What does it cost?
Nothing. It is free to enter, and there is no fee to submit.
How big can a team be?
Up to 5 including you, and solo is fine. Everyone registers individually — form a team on the day and name it when you submit.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Mel takes plain English, so the skill that matters is describing what you want clearly. The starter kit we send before the event covers the rest.
Who owns what I build?
You do. Submitting grants Mel and its partners permission to show your project in marketing and event materials — a licence to show it, not a transfer. Exact wording on the rules page.
When is the deadline?
Submissions close when the clock stops — Aug 30, 2026, 2:00 PM EST. The submissions page counts down to it.
